Patrick has served as the Lead Pastor of The Bridge since 2007. His personal pursuit has been to reach people who are living without faith in Christ and have never been to church, or have given up on church, by helping them rediscover, redefine, and revolutionize the way they think about and experience church. Helping people find ways to connect faith in Christ to every aspect of their life is his driving passion.
Patrick is not only a visionary pastor and effective communicator, he is also a certified church consultant and ministry strategist, leadership coach, and adjunct professor. He was born in West Columbia, SC but considers Atlanta his home having moved to the northern suburbs in third grade. He grew up in a Christian home and has served in local church ministry in some leadership capacity since he was 17, including as a musician, youth pastor, music minister, worship leader, young adult pastor, associate pastor, Bible teacher, children's pastor, production director, internship director, leadership developer, custodian, and lawn care guy. While studying architecture at Georgia Tech, Patrick sensed a calling to vocational ministry and transferred to Lee University. He graduated in 1993 with a B.S. degree in Discipleship and Christian Education. He later returned to Lee University and earned his M.A. degree in Church Leadership. He is an Ordained Bishop with the Church of God, Cleveland TN.
Patrick enjoys dining, movies, and traveling, especially to foreign countries, and exploring different cultures. He is married to Krista, whom he met while serving in his first full-time church staff position in Dawsonville, GA, and together they have 4 children: Isabelle, who is married and lives in Athens, GA, where she attends UGA, and Isaac, Ireland, and Israel who live at home and attend White County middle and high school.
Jeff received his call to ministry while in college and began his pastoral life as a youth and music pastor in 1990. Shortly thereafter, he met and married his wife, Donja.
They have three beautiful girls—Taylor, Xandra, and Ashton—who enjoy serving alongside their parents in a life of ministry.
Jeff has a passion for music, the arts, movies, riding his motorcycle, Moe’s, and spending time with his family. He has served in various roles throughout his church career, and currently serves as the executive pastor, overseeing the staff and administrative aspects of the church.
Community Care Pastor
Cheryl moved to Cleveland in 1993 and started attending The Bridge Church a few years later, after marrying her high school sweetheart Billy Kennedy.
After taking a Financial Peace class offered at the church, both Cheryl and Billy knew they had to make big changes in their life to align themselves with biblical teachings. Not only did they change the way they handled their finances, they both changed jobs during the process, making God and family their first priority. Cheryl joined The Bridge staff in 2006 as Office Administrator.
Cheryl has completed the Calling And Ministry Studies (CAMS) program offered by the Church of God and received her ministerial credentials in 2012. She now serves as Community Care Pastor, sharing her love and compassion with people within the church as well as those living far from Christ.
Avery accepted the call into ministry at the age of 22. In October of 1999 he met his wife Lori, and they have three children: Thomas, Michaela, and Miley.
Avery enjoys spending time with his children, being outdoors, taking cruises, and traveling.
Avery and his wife Lori both have a deep desire to see this generation of students come into a closer walk with Jesus. Avery has served on the North Florida State Youth Camp Committee, South Georgia Youth Leadership Association, and South Georgia State Children’s Board; he planted a church in Nebraska, and has worked on numerous state youth and children’s projects.
Shane is the husband of Colleen and the father of five amazing kids. He has a background in business and graduated from Georgia College with a degree in business/marketing.
That background, along with a clear calling upon his life to engage people through music, enabled him to pioneer and maintain a national ministry with Christian recording group Julian Drive for more than 10 years. He is also a noted songwriter and has begun emerging as a speaker over the past few years.
Shane has held numerous positions and had many opportunities over the years to mentor student and adult worship teams on both a national and local level. He is a sought-after worship leader at conferences, conventions, local churches, camps, and tours. Shane has a passion for connecting with audiences of all ages, cultures, and demographics, whether it be through song, testimony, or the spoken Word.
Student Ministries Pastor
Ashton grew up in a ministry family and began attending the Bridge in 2007. As she grew up in the church, she began to serve in her middle school years and has served in many capacities ever since. She began sensing her own call to ministry in her last two years of high school and surrendered to this call during her freshman year at Anderson University.
She has pursued this call with passion and has worked to gain hands-on ministry experience through several internships and service in the local church while earning her degree. She plans to graduate from Anderson University with a Bachelor’s in Theology in the spring of 2018.
Ashton is passionate about creating an environment that is welcoming to all, produces strong community, and provokes deep spiritual growth. She is a lover of pizza, movies, and all things outdoors.
